DG Custom Hood Struts (TruWeave Hydrocarbon)
DG Custom's TruWeave Hydrocarbon hood struts are the product of a unique hydro-dipping, water transfer process that perfectly captures all of the appearance of real carbon fiber without the extravagant prices. The kit comes with a full set of gas-charged struts that are capable of supporting both the stock hood and most other aftermarket hoods. These struts eliminate the clunky hood prop and give you more room to work on and show off your engine compartment. The kit is easy to install and uses the factory mounting points of 2005 to 2012 GT, V6 and Bullitt Mustangs.
The hydro-dipping process uses sheets of material pre-applied with the carbon fiber pattern that are floated and then dissolved in a pool of water that leaves the pattern on the water's surface. The parts are then evenly dipped and the pattern adheres to their all of their surfaces to perfectly mimic the weaved effect of real carbon fiber. DG custom then applies a UV-resistant coating that allows all of the hydrocarbon parts to hold their color for ages.
Each kit is a direct bolt-on accessory that can be installed in under an hour. DG Custom includes all necessary installation hardware and instructions.
Fitment:
These struts will not fit Shelby GT500s or GT-Hs.
