The NT555R performance drag tires utilize many of the same design elements found in the NT555 street tire, including much of the tread patterning and reliance on extremely large contact areas for traction. Unlike the standard NT555, the NT555R has several layers of structural reinforcements including strengthened belts. Each tire is DOT approved and can be used on the street as well as the weekend drag strip. This version of the NT555R has 275/40R17 dimensions and will have proper fitment on 9.5" wide wheels, but can also fit 9.0" and 11" wheels.
Each NT555R is made with a unique tread compound that strives to balance track performance and wear. The tread is resistant to heat degradation and is designed to function through a wide range of track temperatures. The tread itself is extremely rigid and capable of withstanding high-RPM launches. Each NT555R has a UTQG treadwear rating of 100 and received an "A" grade temperature and traction rating.
