Pypes True Dual Exhaust
This complete V6 dual exhaust conversion from pypes is, functionally, a total cat-back system that uses a cut-and-clamp x-pipe, new kickover pipes and a Street-Pro axle-back system to turn the meek V6 into a roaring monster that overshadows the stock V8s. Pypes' kit also greatly reduces back pressure throughout the system for general performance gains on top of the new-found growl. This kit will fit 2005 to 2010 V6 Mustangs and will require some cutting and welding for the new x-pipe.
The kit improves the factory's crimped steel by using 100% 2.5" mandrel-bent tubing that creates smooth, even curves over the system's entire length. This dual exhaust kit is made entirely of 409 stainless steel to be as corrosion-resistant as possible. The Street-Pro axle-back consists of a Pypes chambered muffler and polished 4" tips. Pypes includes hangars, instructions and other installation hardware. The included x-pipe needs to be welded in just aft of the catalytic converters and replaces the stock y-pipe.
Tech Note:
late 2008 and new v6 cars no longer have the hangers on the cross member bracket. The X-pipe is light enough where it is not necessary but if you really want additional support, the cross member bracket is available from Ford for around $115 and includes the hangers. 6R3Z-6A023-BA.
