RAM Billet Aluminum Flywheel
If you're still running the stock flywheel on your high horsepower, performance modified Mustang, you should consider an upgrade. After all, all that power produced by your V8 is useless unless it can be transferred to the rear wheels, and the flywheel is the foundation of the clutch system.
Ram's billet aluminum Mustang 8 bolt flywheel is a great replacement for your factory cast flywheel in high horsepower and competition applications. Cast flywheels are not explosion proof and can be dangerous when used in high RPM applications. This billet aluminum flywheel is CNC machined, not cast, and exceeds SFI specifications.
The engineers at Ram made sure that this flywheel is surface ground for a flat mating surface. The weight distribution is balanced to within 1/2 oz-inch of factory specifications. This aluminum Mustang flywheel features a 1/4'' thick steel friction insert for great heat dissipation without distortion. This lightweight flywheel leads to better acceleration as you change gears. Accordingly it is recommended for road racing applications.
