S3M Stage 3 Suspension Kit
This Stage 3 exclusive kit takes some of the best suspension components from ROUSH, Tokico Performance and BMR and puts them into a single kit that will let your S197 handle the toughest road and track conditions with ease. The kit stiffens the Mustang's suspension and greatly reduces body roll for a smoother, jet-like ride through corners and other performance driving maneuvers. This full suspension makeover fits 2005 to 2009 GT Mustangs and comes standard with Tokico D-Spec shocks and struts, the ROUSH Extreme Lowering kit, a BMR adjustable panhard bar and BMR's sway bar kit that includes front and rear sway bars. Our Stage 3 kit is the ultimate suspension upgrade system that vastly improves our Stage 1 and Stage 2 kits.
Tokico's struts and shocks comprise the backbone of Stage 3's kit. Each strut and shock are fully adjustable with a huge range of potential options that let you decide the softness or smoothness of the suspension system with the mere twist of a dial. The adjustment system changes both the compression and rebound dampening rates at the same time for more consistent control. Each strut and shock have a unique valve and piston design that provides exact damping even at the softest settings.
The ROUSH lowering kit included with this kit comes with front and rear springs that lower the ground clearance of the S197 by one inch in the front and 1-1/4" in the rear. The lower profile of the Mustang gives the car a more aggressive look while giving the S197 better cornering and road-holding capabilities. The springs provide a stiffer stance that reduces squat during acceleration and body roll through tight turns.
BMR's adjustable panhard rod stops the unwanted movement of the Mustang's rear suspension and makes hard maneuvers and rough roads an absolute breeze. The rod has integrated polyurethane bushings and is CNC machined from 4130 chromoly steel tubing. The rod end spacers are made from 304 stainless steel. The adjustable design allows you to use a wider array of tires than the stock rod can accommodate.
We here at Stage 3 top this package off with BMR's complete sway bar kit that includes both a front and rear bar. The front sway bar is made of hollow, aerospace-grade cold-formed tubing that is highly resistant to torsional fatigue. This 35mm bar supports the front suspension to make cornering flatter and more linear. The rear sway bar is a solid 22mm tube made of the same high-quality materials as it's front-mounted cousin. The rear bar greatly increases body stiffness for less roll. Both bars come with bushings and necessary mounting hardware.
