Wilwood Engineering takes their extensive experience in crafting brake systems for professional racers and uses every ounce of it for their Superlite six piston Big Brake Kits for fourth-generation Mustangs. These ultra-power brake kits are able to satisfy the most substantial needs of both competition drivers and street drivers who want some extra security for their Mustangs. This version of Wilwood's Superlite kit fits 1994 to 2004 Mustangs with at least 17 inch wheels.
Wilwood brakes have become a staple of the performance driving world. Since being founded in 1977, Wilwood has steadily refined their braking technologies to create some of the best Mustang brake kits currently on the performance parts aftermarket and will bring the most high-powered Mustangs to a complete stop from almost any speed. These Wilwood Mustang brakes come with 12.88 Inch rotors and 6 piston calipers in a high-quality red or black powder coat finish.

Each of the included 12.88 inch rotors (Wilwood likes to round up) are solid iron that can come either slotted or drilled and slotted, with both options available from our drop-down menu. These rotors feature a narrow 1.25" contact area that provides just enough surface area for adequate braking and keeping weight low. The rotors come standard with a black electro-coating that aids in corrosion resistance and overall lifespan.
The two six piston calipers that are a standard part of this kit are machined from billet aluminum and weigh just under five pounds each. The pistons are manufactured from stainless steel and use Wilwood's unique Thermlock technology to reduce heat transfer from the pads into the caliper body and brake fluid. Each caliper features a closed bridge design with five bridge bolts and spring-loaded plates that reduces rattle and makes the calipers resistant to wear. The calipers receive either a black or red powder coat finish, the option for which is available from our drop-down menu.
Wilwood's performance brake pads that come with this kit are able to withstand operating temperatures of up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit while producing low noise and low dust for everyday driving considerations. These pads are specifically engineered to provide low wear rates with Wilwood's iron rotors while providing racing quality performance.
