X-Charger Supercharger Kit - HI-PO Plus w/ X Cal 3 SCT Tuner
This version of the Explorer Express X-Charger supercharger system combines the excellent Eaton, Roots-style head unit with other engine compartment modifications and a specialized tune to push the S197's V6 into GT performance thresholds. The X-Charger can add up to 100 horsepower and 80ft/lbs of torque onto Ford's 4.0L Cologne V6, put quarter mile ETs down into the 13s while keeping gas consumption near 25mpg for standard street driving. The supercharger has an extremely compact size and sits perfectly on top of the engine. The X-Charger can output up to 10psi of boost using the supplied 2.8" pulley and new elongated Goodyear serpentine belt. A unique bypass valve is built directly into the head unit that expels excess boost at low RPMs in an effort to save gas and keep the Mustang under control. Each kit includes a new 84mm MAF housing that replaces the restrictive stock airbox and provides the additional air needed for the X-Charger's smooth operation. The kit comes with a tune from Explorer Express that takes into account the increased airflow of the supercharger without pushing the head unit or engine to failure.
Explorer Express provides a laser-etched dash plaque with every purchase that's engraved with the supercharger's serial number. Every kit comes with extremely detailed instructions, installation hardware and new spark plugs. Maintenance is relatively hassle-free and only requires changing the head unit's oil every 100,000 miles.
