X-Charger Supercharger Kit - HI-PO Plus w/ Tuner
The Explorer Express X-Charger supercharger kit is based around a complete Magnusson MP90 positive supercharger that's the product of Eaton Corporation's Roots-type supercharger designs. This complete, high-output supercharger kit includes a 2.8" pulley and Goodyear drive belt that are capable of generating up to 10 psi of boost, adding up to 100 horsepower and 80ft/lbs of torque onto the 4.0L Cologne V6 when tuned using the included PCM recalibration. The supercharger's specialized design takes full advantage of the smaller V6 engine by adding power while preserving excellent fuel economy. The X-Charger system fits 2005 V6 Mustangs in a fairly easy installation.
Each X-Charger kit comes with an 84mm MAF housing with a conical K&N high flow air filter with 3.5" rubber hosing. The X-Charger comes with an integrated bypass valve that keeps the supercharger's boost under control at low RPMs and cruising speeds to save gas and keep the Mustang under greater control. This version of the X-Charger package includes a tune that, while conservative, takes into account all of the engine modifications to produce the massive horsepower needed to walk GT Mustangs in the quarter mile.
The X-Charger kit comes with all necessary installation hardware and step-by-step instructions. As an extra bonus, a laser-cut dash plate with the X-Charger's serial number comes standard. The X-Charger is relatively maintenance-free and only requires a head unit oil change every 100,000 miles.
